Lets talk about Peru!

What an incredible experience Peru was!  I decided to take a trip to Peru for my 30th birthday as a learning and healing trip to clear my head and find some new direction and motivation.  What I found was a lot more..

I flew into Lima and directly to Cusco and went to the Palacio Del Inka, a gorgeous Starwood Hotel in the heart of Cusco.  After drinking some coca tea and getting a short nap in, I was ready to explore Cusco and all of the delicious food waiting for me.  Cusco was a cool city filled with culture, sites, and delicious food.

Dinner was at Limo with delicious Ceviche and sushi as my main and a delicious starter course.

Leaving Cusco to go to Ollantaytambo for the train to Machu Picchu I decided to hire a driver to take me to a few sites and drop me off in Ollantaytambo.

My driver took me around all day from this really cool alpaca wool maker…

to Chinceros, the Salineras, and Moray!

After a long day of exploration I got to Ollantaytambo and was ready for Machu Picchu the next day.  Taking the train was fantastic, the scenery was breathtaking and every moment was a treat.  I finally got to Machu Picchu and was ready to tackle hiking it but unfortunately for me the fog decided to settle and hide everything.  While taking the bus up, I was concerned i was not going to see what I came all this way to see…

After hiking the trails, going to the sun gate, I had about 5 minutes to capture as many pictures and share as much emotion with my world as I could before the fog settled back in.  I was successful!

After a long day of hiking, I travelled back to Cusco to catch a flight to Lima bright and early in the morning… time for some relaxation!

Paracas was a 4 hour drive and worth every minute once I got there!  I stayed at the Hotel Paracas Luxury Collection hotel because of the fantastic Starwood service and of course the view!

I got a ton of pool time in to round my trip out before heading home on Monday.  What an experience and definitely one I want to experience again!
